Axles Grand Jeep Cherokee 4.0, 1999
Hi all,
I am brand new to the forum, originally a Brit but now living in Northern Nevada, I love it. I drove Land Rovers for 20 years, throughout Europe and Africa. Now I am plunging into having my first Jeep, it is a project, new steering gear, etc. It needs ball joints, axles, suspension and has an interesting leak of transmission fluid.
I am new to jeeps and so please forgive what might be an easy question. I am trying to buy two new CV axles but there seems to be several possibilities. Which ones do I buy?
Yours
Andy

Go to your local parts store. Have the clerk pull up the options and explain them to you.

Hiya,
I called Jeep in Twin Falls , Idaho. they were super helpful. Asked for last six of vin and they immediately were able to tell me. I have a GSB w/o varilock progresssive. They have been ordered from Rockauto.
Now begins the rebuild. It has181,000 miles but the engine runs so nice. On a drive at 55 mph is returned 23 mpg, if that is accurate that is incredible.
