Default ASD relay buzz's with key on

2000 jeep grand cherokee, ASD relay buzz's with key in on position and it will not start. I have been able to start it by removing relay and jumping it to complete connection. Have good grounds and when jumped out runs fine. The ecm has been changed with no change in problem. Seems this is common issue and feel its bad wire from ecm to ASD. anyone have any input on this?

Did you try another known good relay?
What diagnostics have been done to suggest the bad wire?

Haha
I was reading through ASD threads and came across this. Reading the ECM was replaced straight away, I thought "please tell me you tried another/good relay as first step in all this.."

That was suggested and never heard back after the first post....could have saved a few $$ there.

Good advice: simple and free stuff first in your trouble shooting. Can always throw money at it later.

Yep. If you are going to fire the parts cannon, at least start with the small caliber stuff first, instead of jumping into the expensive stuff right away.

That buzzing is "relay chatter". Can be from a bad ground, but it's more likely to be the relay itself.

Can't hurt to refresh your grounds, though. that's pretty close to free. See my sig, #1.

Nothing worse than replacing a computer then finding out it was just a loose connection! D'oh!
