I have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.2 V8!and I turned the rear overhead lights on and the radio and modular dispay lost power and the overhead lights flicker and stay dim. There is also a ticking noise when the door is open coming from under the glove box. When the car is running the overhead lights remain dim and the modular display blinks with a red box in the engine section of the car diagram. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. The car runs fine, I'm thinking possibly a shorted wire or a problem with the relay under the dash? Any ideas? I'm at a loss.

 

Clicking is most likely a relay. Do you have service manual?

 

No I do not... But that's what I was thinking.

 

Problem solved!!! Removed glovebox screws Felt relay That was Clicking and pulled and replaced. Once replaced the new relay clicked as well. Pulled every single fuse which should have been done in the 1st place. (yeah I know I'm A Idiot) found a fried blue 15 ,replaced it. Now have interior lights,radio and computer and I'm good to go! Whoo hoo!
