My 02 GC has had the airbag light on for a while now. It started intermittently and progressed to continuous. I wanted to wait for the recall fix just to see if it fixed the issue. The dealer completed the recall fix and said the control module was not communicating and would be $600+ for replacement with no guarantee of a fix. I said nope and did some research. I bought a used ab control module with matching numbers. and installed it. The light went off. I was told the module had to be reprogramed by the dealer for the specific vehicle. The dealer informed me today the module cannot be reprogramed. The vehicle info is not rewrite-able on the module. A new replacement arrives without vin ID. Does anyone have any experience with swapping these modules.
