Hi, I'm looking to upgrade the alternator in my XJ and i know i can do it with an alternator from a ZJ. anyone know what year 4.0L ZJ's had the 136 amp alternator? thanks.

non of the 4.0L got that that I know of.. I have a '94 with the 4.0L and it's only a 60amp. The 5.2 I be leave did..

I've heard of using the alternator from the Ford 300 though..

Nick were none of the ZJs or WJs a high output altenator on the 4.0L because like the OP I have heard these same rumors.
Mine is 140 amp but I had mine rebuilt to have that output.

The alternator on my 98 is a 117 amp model according to my build sheet.

I know mine isn't, but I have a early year '94. So anything after that is possible. I just don't know on this one.. Might have been a option later..
