I have a 94 ZJ with the 5.2, my alternator recently decided it was done working and I have been looking to replace it. I know that 96-98 ZJs had a 136 amp alternator and I am wondering if I can use that to replace the 90 amp in my 94 with little to no modification. Any help is appreciated

Don't quote me, but I would assume so. My 97's alternator was controlled by the PCM so I would assume it would handle the larger output. It just regulates voltage and cuts back the charge rate when the battery get hot. I've been told they went to the 136 amp when they put in rear window defoggers. NY requires them on all cars sold in the state since 1996.
