I'm replacing the fluid and filter in my 04 GC Laredo (4.0) and the Haynes recommends adjusting the bands.
Should I do it or not? I have approx. 81K on the truck.

I would not unless you have done them before.. I had to do mine on my "94 ZJ cause of it slipping and it was a pain to do it right. All the write ups about torq than back them down were BS. I stripped out the heads on 2 of the adjusters.

The kickdown band(front one) torque it down to 72lbs/in then back it off 2 5/8's turns, the rear band it also torqued to 72lbs/in and backed off 3 turns. DO NOT do it without a in/lbs torque wrench.
