Default Accelerator hard when trans is pulled down in first

have a 97 grand with the 4.0. trans shift just fine just noticed when I pulled the trans down into first the skinny pedal is crazy hard to push. Shift up to second just as smooth as if it was in drive. Checked the cable up at the throttle body and its good till you put it in first so I know it's down in the trans. I need to do a pan gasket on it anyways ill check it than but didn't know if anyone as seen or had the same issue. Looking for a heads up to save me some time if its not that obvious when I pull the pan down. Thanks
