Post ABS light, how to decode without DRB

Hey guys, could use some help.

1998 ZJ, 5.2 Limited

I have a ABS light on, so my ABS is off, obviously.
It started this winter when i got ABS feedback, while on solid non frozen roads, it would stop and ABS light would turn on, and thus ABS would be disabled until next day usually. This happened a couple of times but now it's constantly on.

I've read and read, but before i jump into it, i need help with how i can diagnose it without a DRB tool. They key diagnosis method for some reason doen't work on '98 models, according to Hayne's and myself when i tried it.

What are the most common ABS failure points, and can i clear the error light without the scan tool? It needs to pass inspection mid July so I'm a bit rushed.

Any and all help appreciated.
Based out of Denmark.

Yeah the key switch method definitely works on 1999-2010 models (I know the 1993-1995 ZJ models had where you counted the 'Check Engine' light flashing a certain number of times with the OBD-I System, and if it flashed 5 times, paused, and then 5 more times (Code '55'), that meant 'End of Codes', and then you'd have to go online and look it up on a chart. If you ONLY got a Code '55' and NO other codes, it meant that you had NO DTC's... at least that's how it worked on my 1994 ZJ). It's worked on my '02 WJ and my old '05 WK. Although that ONLY gives 'P' Codes I believe. If you get a good enough OBD-II scanner that doesn't ONLY scan 'P' Codes, you SHOULD be able to get your ABS System codes (I used to have a pretty basic Chinese-Generic scanner that I got off of Amazon that could scan my ECU and TCU as well, and right before I traded it in, it told me that my old '05 WK had lost communication with nearly ALL of its modules).
