Im working on my girlfriends 99 Grand Cherokee and i have a question. Im a Cherokee guy to begin with and i don't do all the service work on her Jeep, but i thought it would be nice to figure it out. She has a problem with the shift column lights not illuminating at night or when the running lights are on. They have come on before, for a brief time but went out. I don't know where to start with this one. Any help would be great help.

 

Its probably a loose wire or something, but you'd probably have to tear into the dash or center console to fix. Maybe someone who has also had this problem will help.

 

Thanks for the repy, I might of found the problem and it seems to be a loose wire, i will have to open up the center console and reconnect the wires, but who knows when it wil happen again?

 

It'll never happen again if you properly secure the connection.
