Default 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee dying/stalling randomly

Not sure what it is, but today when I pulled into the parking lot at school my truck stalled (not sure if that's the right term) happened as I was braking and the entire truck started vibrating I could barely brake and the gas pedal had no effect as in no matter how hard I pushed it did nothing. I managed to be able to shift into park turn off the truck and when I turned it on it was fine again. However later once I got out of class and stopped at a red light, it felt as if it powered down and started shaking again. I pulled over and turned it off and on and then after 5 minutes it happened again after I had to brake suddenly after being cut off.

This has never happened before today, my dash shows the ABS light on, and the check engine light just turned on after the second time it stalled. Anyone know what the issue is?

Any codes? Sounds like the soder connections in your computer are going out. Do a youtube search its a free fix. Outside of that you will have to check each compontent one by one.

Get your battery checked - could be a cell going bad causing unstable voltage.
I had a similar problem with stalling & erratic starting/idling one day - next day it wouldn't even turn over - 1 battery cell found completely dead.

Disconnect the positive battery cable for 10 minutes and then see if there is any difference. This resets the PCM, the computer. I had periodic stalling and intermittent restarts that increased in frequency. No codes. And it was my PCM. A poor connection in the battery cables can also cause stalling. Make sure the connection is clean and tight and there isn't any corrosion (white stuff) in the cables. If you have the stock battery cable terminals, replace them. See what happens and get back to us.

the pos cable should be touched to the neg cable to discharge stored energy. Over the ten minutes the capacitors may discharge but I have not tried it that way, only by briefly touching the positive cable (disconnected from the battery of course) to the neg terminal.

It gave me a P 0320 and a P 0700. Looked those up and it looks like it's something with the transmission? I'm not sure how to exactly fix that. Then today when i tried leaving to work, it would not start up. I'd turn the key and the starter sounded normal but it wouldn't start up. After holding the key in the ignition position for about 5-6 seconds it finally started up

when its the computer usually its misfire codes that come up. It still seems to be an intermittent electrical issue though. After checking the computer soder connections i would then check crank pos sensor, cam pos sensor, and the coil. Also disassemble your grounds on the motor, clean and reassemble. This way you eliminate possible culprits one by one rather than guessing.

also, what i did was keep a spark plug in the jeep and when the fault occurred i checked for spark to see if i could trace it back.

Kinda hard to do that with a coil rail! You can use a neon test light on a plug boot though. My brother just stuck his finger down there on mine. Idiot!
