98 Grnd Cherokee: Loud Knocking noise when making turns
I have noticed that when I make turns (left/right) there is a loud knocking/popping noise coming from the front end. I cant seem to imitate it sitting still. It steers fine and the steering wheel doesn't jump like when in 4x4. Power steering fluid is full, seems to have almost a burnt smell to it though.
Looking for help on what it may be before I take it somewhere. somewhat mechanically inclined, if the fix is simple and I have tools would like to do it myself.
Thanks for any help.

Classic sign of a bad spinnaker sprocket bushing that has lost its slip sleeve. You can try and put some powdered butter grease on it, but it might be too far gone. You also want to check the brindle shaft and grundle nuts for excessive thrust load spiraling.
