Default 98 Grand Cherokee won't start

I own a 98 GC with 107,000 miles. When I parked it last night it was running fine, this morning would not start. Gas in the tank, cranks great, but no go. Thanks in advance folks, any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Back to basics
For an engine NOT to run, you must be missing one of the following
Air, Fuel, Spark
Figure out which of the 3 you do not have, and we can help. You dont really need to worry about the air, unbuckle the air filter and let it flop for the time being.

Thanks Ron. My first thought was fuel pump, but my mechanic skills are limited.

Air and spark are the easiest to check. Unbuckle the air filter and knock the filter loose.
Still no start?
Pull a plug wire off and stick a screw driver in the end of the wire. Hold the plug wire/screw driver assembly close to the block and turn the engine over. Should see a spark jump the gap.
That only leaves fuel.

Yep, did the air filter thing, no dice. I'll check for spark tonight.

Thanks for the advice Ron.

If you dont hold the screw driver just right, the spark will jump to you. Upon that jump you will figure out real quick that you have done it wrong, and will never do it wrong again! Wont hurt you, but its a surprise!
