What temperature should my 98 grand cherokee 4.0 run at. The gauge seems to sit at 210 or a little above. Not sure if that's hot or normal but it runs great. Also not sure if my temp gauge is accurate. I took a temp reading on the side of the block with a laser thermometer and it read 190-195. Just don't want to do any damage to the engine. thanks

 

210 is normal, mine will run at about 215 when sitting in traffic during a 100 degree day.

 

Stock Thermostat is a 195*, +/- 210* is normal
