Default 98 Grand Cherokee hesitates/bucks intermittently at 60+ mph

Good evening everyone! Looking for some help...

Specs: 98 Grand Cherokee, 4.0, I-6, 191k, located in North Carolina. Stock, no mods, I don't take it off road.

Problem: At highway speeds (60+ mph), the Jeep hesitates (stutters, bucks, whatever you want to call it) for a split second. I will lose all acceleration power, RPMs will spike to 3500-4000, then everything will return to normal. It does this intermittently - sometimes every 10 seconds, sometimes every 30 seconds, sometimes every minute. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to how often this happens. It only does this at 60+ mph, driving around town is fine, but once I get on the interstate... bad news.

This started about 6 weeks ago. I was driving on the interstate and the stuttering/bucking kept happening. I had a CEL, pulled into O'Reilly's, and had the code tested - the code said camshaft sensor. I replaced the camshaft sensor, distributor cap, and rotor. Drove it home with no problems, thought this solved the problem. I took a trip in early December, 4 hours of driving mostly on the interstate at 60+ mph, and had absolutely no problems and declared it fixed.

...except the problem reared its ugly head again on Christmas Eve, as I was driving 2 hours home to see family. Stuttering/bucking again, except this time the entire Jeep cut off and I had to have it towed. Turned over but wouldn't start. Got that fixed today, had the crankshaft sensor replaced - this was, oddly, my 2nd crankshaft sensor in 3 1/2 years. That got the Jeep started, but the stuttering/bucking at 60+mph continues. I replaced the ignition coil and spark plug wires today, didn't change anything. No CEL, not sure where to go next.

Recent repairs completed: transfer case and pinion seal (4/18), spark plugs (5/18), camshaft sensor, distributor cap, rotor (11/18), crankshaft sensor, ignition coil, spark plug wires (12/18)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

not really sure....but are you running the OEM crank sensor? possibly a loose connection off the computer?
