Check the fuses. It sounds (haha) like the amp is not coming on. Also look at where the amp mounts and check for rust around the ground wire. If some one replaced the infinity speakers with Pioneers, then the amp could be burnt up. The Infinity spkrs are 2 ohm since that is what the amp is and most aftermarket are 4ohm or 8 ohm. I replaced the factory indash with a Sony explode and did away with the Infinity amp. Since my spkrs were blown I put Blaplunkt spkrs from Crutchfield in place of the stock ones. All this run about 225.00 and sounds better than the stock Infinity gold crap. I have the wiring diagram so you can remove the amp and hook the wires back together. Let me know if you want it. I think I still have my old amp if you want it, you can have it for free just pay shipping.

Any speaker will work on any amp so that wasn't the problem! Of course running 600 watts to a 61/4 will blow it but you get the Idea.

also to the OP check your grounds if the speakers ground out on any metal they won't work.

Good thing you've already figured it out...
Sometimes these simple things made us think that there is a big problem...

I have a 98 grand cherokee and just hooked up a different cd player other than the stock one. The sound works with the radio on. It does not work when playing a cd. It shows the cd is playing but no sound with it. All wires are correctly hooked up except for a loner plug. There is no place to hook that into on the aftermarket cd player. Any suggestions?
