98 grand cherokee
i have a 98 grand cherokee . the display computer in the dash says " coolant sensor bad" were time and date are normally shown . so i changed the coolant temp sensor 12 bucks a auto zone but computer still says "coolant sensor bad " any one have any ideas what to do next . thanks

Pull the battery cables off of the battery and then touch the two leads together to clear the codes from the PCM. Wait 15 minutes. hook the battery back up. codes should be reset.
Alternate method; See if there is a parts store such as Knecht's that will hook up a scanner and clear the codes.
