Default 97 ZJ front axle question.

Got a quick question, need a quick answer if possible. I did a quick search, but couldn't find the answer I was looking for and I feel it would be quicker to just ask rather then keep searching. A buddy of mine has a 97 ZJ that broke the front drive shaft and damaged the yoke on the front axle in the process. We've already got a front shaft that will work out of a parts XJ we've got, the question that we've got is will the pinion yoke off of the 94 XJ HP D30 work on the 97 ZJ LP D30? He's going out of town for Cristmas on Sat morning and where he's going is supposed to get hit with a pretty nasty snow storm, and after the last bit of snow we got here locally he's not looking forward to driving it in the snow again without 4wd.

The drive shaft will be a bit long but the yoke will work.

Idk, the XJ was a 88, not a 94 like I posted above, and the ZJ is a 97 318. The XJ's shaft did measure a bit closer to 31.5" but the ZJ's was right at 31" in the truck.

My ZJ had a 4L that might be the difference.
