Default 2in coil spacers vs. F>R v8 shocks

not trying to be THAT guy that keeps beating this budget lift dead horse because i know this is something thats been covered a lot but i have done my research (not just asking out of the blue) and just need a few application specific questions answered. a good friend of mine has been wanting to lift his zj for a while now but doesn't have the money right now to buy the kit he wants and he needs to replace his shocks ASAP so we're looking for the most affordable option to get some lift while we're at it. 2in coil spacers are the first go to but does anyone have any insight on the f>r lift with the v8 springs? I've been researching it for a while now and still have some questions about what else will needs to be purchased (adjustable trac bars? LCA? etc..) & the reliability of it because I've been seeing different answers everywhere and if it's a lot he'll probably just stick with the coil spacers until he has enough for a lift kit. he just needs something for that extra flex to be able to stick with my 4.5in XJ when we make trips up to Rausch creek in the next month or two

If budget is the concern, a coil spacer will do just fine! I wheel my ZJ with 2.5" spacers and have been fairly happy with it. In my other ZJ (5.9) the F>R swap made it ride like a dumptruck. Took it out and threw 2" coil spacers in there. Throw a BB under it and wheel the snot out of it. Save up and buy it right later, just my opinion, having run both setups.

thank you for the input! i think that's what we're going to stick with for sure now that i've continued to look into the overall logistics of it. probably the 2.25in spacers to fit some 31's
