My 97 GC starts sometimes drives 1 mile or so and then just dies. Had sensors replaced, fuel pump and some other sensors to no avail. Problem still existing sometime it won't start I'll wait awhile and then it starts but once I start driving it will just stop running. Happened on several instances. Recently on highway and it decided to stop just like that, thought it was my last day on earth traffic was moving I put it on Neutral and it wouldn't start. Please HELP and suggestions.

 

2 Common issues are the connectors at the PCM and also the PCM ground.
The connectors at the PCM can become loose and or corroded, clean them and use zip ties to secure them. The PCM ground is located on the right side of the engine towards the rear on a stud that also has a wire bracket holding the loom of the wiring harness, the ground is on a ring terminal behind the harness bracket make sure it's clean and tight.

 

I had the same problem on my 96 GC. I eventually replaced the PCM, I have had zero problems sense. I would recommend getting it from Autozone or dealership.
