96 Grand Cherokee Alarm
I just bought a 96 Grand Cherokee, had it running two days ago, changed fuel pump and filter to get it running, left it alone for two days and when I went to unlock the door the key fob all of sudden was no longer working, so I unlocked it with the key and the alarm will not stop now and it starts then immediately dies. Read a thousand forums and watched 100 videos, nothing works, not the key tricks, not grounding the purple/yellow wire, and my fob doesnt work now, so I cant try that, the only way to get it to stop is to disconnect battery, is there a way I can remove the entire alarm system?

Problem is the key switch , the electric one on the back of the drivers door lock cylinder, is kaput. You should be able to open the passenger door with the key and shut off the alarm. Meanwhile the junk yard for the switch(es) or ebay, tho they are pricey on fleabay. Also you will want to replace or disconnect the switch at the back hatch door. Yes its a pain but this is what we go through.
