At 260K miles, the front suspension is getting a rebuild. Completed ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links and bushings, steering stabilizer, brakes, shocks and lower control arms. Need to do upper control arms and get the front end aligned. The bushings in the lower control arms were crushed to the point that the axle had slid three quarters of an inch rearward, and so I suspect that the uppers are in just as bad of a shape. The upper control arms also look like a bear to get out - badly rusted nuts and less than optimal clearance to get to them. The shop rates replacing them at 4 hours labor, and I don't want to give up now. Anyone got any advice on how to go at the upper control arms?

Mine came out pretty easy, but getting the axle end bolts to go through was a bit of a pain. Use a floor jack to help position the axle where you need it and cuss a lot, it worked for me. Use quality arms from Moog or TRW. I used some ebay arms that are junk and noisey. Good luck and work safe.
