Hey guy im going to buy some ATF for my poor friend so i can get his jeep out of my garage and my jeep in. How much ATF fluid do I need to fll the transfercase and transmission? we just completed the np231 swap

 

Transfer case you fill up until it starts coming out of the fill plug. Transmission assuming you drained it by taking the pan and filter off, you need to put in at least 4-5 quarts, and then check the level with the engine running and the tranny in neutral. If the level is on the Circle on the low mark then drive it around until its warm and check it again. When i took my tranny pan off and replaced the filter it took around 6 1/2 -7 quarts of ATF+4 to refill it.

However im not sure what you did to the transmission so before you toss in 7 quarts explain better what you did please ?
