I have a 95 limited 5.2 grand cherokee with full time 4 wheel drive. I tried putting it in 4 low several times and was unable to do it until i pulled back on lever real hard. I then drove maybe 50 yards in 4 lo and when i tried to put it back into 4 hi it would not engage into gear. I tried reverse and also nothing. When trying to put it in gear it acts like there is nothing there, no clanking or sounds of any kind. So now im unable to drive it and its my only transportation. Do you guys think the transmission is blown or could it be that cable i keep reading about that is broken or loose. I could not hear any noise coming from the transmission when it would not go into gear. How do i find that cable if there is one to check it out to see if its broken. Before all this the tranny was shifting good through all the gears and the fluid level was good. Also i have very little mechanical knowledge. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

There is a linkage on the driver side of the transfercase that may be out of wack, it sounds like the transfercase may be stuck in neutral.
