i found the 3 prong connector on the drivers side...i pulled it off and jumped the outer pins and the reverse lights came on. so, i'm assuming it's the switch.

My comp. is in safe mode because of the blue screen thing and i've lost my files. Try this: http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=...sting+zj+trans
Sorry, type in "adjusting ZJ trans shift linkage".

jeepforum seems to be down right now...all the other links are vague like everything else i seem to find online about these vehicles lol

just so we're clear, you know i'm not talking about the multi-wired NSS like i originally thought right? i have the 3 wire screw on type.

I know which one you have on your ZJ. I had the same one on my '97ZJ. It's on the drivers side.

i checked all the threads that came up when i serached what you said. didn't find any pics of what i should be looking for. shifter does seem fine, but i guess i'll have a look when i'm under there in the future doing the control arms. any advice you can offer is appreciated.

i have until july when the current inspection runs out before this becomes a real issue.
