Default 95 GC tranny issues..still

Hey guys, I've posted before about my tranny with intermittent O/D issues. I've had it rebuilt about 6mos ago, and the O/D works when it wants. It seems to work when the engine is real warm, or extremely cold, but in between it won't kick in. The OD Off light will stay lit when it doesn't work, but when it does work, it's smooth sailing. I've had two different tranny shops look at it, and both have replaced the temp sensor, and solonoids...same problem. I've even replaced thermostat, temp sensor on engine, and two TCM's. I get a code 16 off of the TCM flashes which is temp sensor input, but the sensor has been replaced four times.
When you rebuild a tranny, is it necessary to flash, or reprogram the TCM to the new parts? I just don't get it. Engine runs great, no check engine light, or anything. I've read it could be TPS VSS or NSS, but Speedo works fine, it idles well, no dead spots and reverse light and cruise control all work, been thru that whole checklist. Please can anyone help me with advice...!!
Thank you

I had OD issues similar to yours. Turned out to be the $18 speed sensor on the transmission. The speed sensor on the transmission is part of the set up that controls the OD and the speed sensor on the transfercase is for the speedo. At least that is how it is on my 94

If the speed sensor is bad, would the speedometer still work? I mean I'm willing to try anything at this point
