Default 94 Cherokee exhaust smoking

I have a 1994 Cherokee Laredo, when I first start it up the engine is really loud. After about a minute the exhaust starts smoking a lot with a really strong smell. Would this be from the engine burning oil? any way to fix this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

no idea about the engine noise but exhaust burning off oil is a tell tale sign of the rear main seal spitting oil all over your hot exhaust.

Ok yeah I know I have an oil leak that seems to be coming from the oil filter housing unit, maybe the o ring. So this would cause the exhaust to smoke?

It could also be a valve cover leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold, I guess it depends on where the exhaust is smoking, or where the oil leak is.

I checked it out and yeah there's oil coming from around the oil filter housing it seems and leaking right onto the exhaust pipe.
I was worried at first it was something in the engine causing the exhaust to smoke the way it is.
