Default 93 ZJ No spark?

Hey guys, I got rid of the 96 XJ a while back and I recently decided to pick up a 93 ZJ. It has the 5.2l and I am having trouble getting it to start.

It will crank all day, but it seems like there is little to no spark coming to the plugs.

What are your guys' thoughts on this?, Are these things prone to the same crankshaft position sensor problem that the XJ is?

Just let me know,
Thanks!

crank position sensor is a very common problem on modern cars these days.
it cause you to fail restart engine after parking it or stopping it. because it cant detect the exact position of rotation.

also distirbutor can be wet, ignition coil can be damaged, fuel pump can fail. those will always cause similar problems.

Are you sure there is no spark? Check for spark and fuel pressure before buying any parts. Could be a crank sensor, could be the cam sensor, could be the fuel pump, really don't know without diagnosing it.

Well the reason i am ruling out fuel problems is that when the engine cranks you can definitely smell gas fumes in the engine bay... unless its possible that there just isnt enough fuel pressure, I don't know..

How common are fuel problems in these?

Pretty common for a 17 year old vehicle to need a fuel pump, but you need to check the pressure first.
