I've been looking around and I'm leaning heavily on rough country's 3.5" lift that just uses stock front springs and new lifted front springs. I was wondering if any of y'all had used it and could tell me how it was or lead me in a better direction. price is definately an issue. Also looking to be able to ride on 33s so how much fender trimming would be necessary. Thank you for anything.

Well, that kit is far from complete, like almost every lift kit available. The rear track bar bracket is prone to ripping off leading to a very bad situation. My .02 would be to never run one. Someone is going to chime in and tell you they've run one for 89 years with zero problems, but I would never chance my life or my kids to that drop bracket. That kit doesn't address the front TB at all either. At that lift height, it's not absolutely critical, but your front axle is going to be shifted to the drivers side. Also, the lack of upper control arms are going to lead to your pinion angles being off, possibly causing vibrations.Originally Posted by jfoster92

You'll need to trim your fenders and plastic bumper to run 33's on that kit. Shouldn't be much, but the plastic bumper will definitely need to be trimmed.
Something that also needs to be asked, is which front DS do you have? The double cardan u-joint shaft, or the CV joint DS.

Of course you're on 33's. I have 5.5" of lift, and I'm on 35's, I've test fitted 36's and they fit fine also. Originally Posted by Flex This

I also have that lift, and my bb's are a little more than 2 inches so im right around 6 inches. It does ride a little rough but it flexes pretty nice offroad. It is a great deal for the money spent though.

In have 94 zj v8 with the RC 3.5 and 2 in coil spacers flexes great I had issues with the TC drop it would let me shift into 4L but when I shifted back into all-time 4H the shifter linkage would pop out of the TC cause it's connected from subframe rail to TC and it put the linkage bar at a weird angle so I had to take the drop out but it does have a slight driveline vibe that I can live with and the ride ain't half bad and I run 31 in MTs

I have adjusted it multiple time and it would let me shift from 4h to 4l one or two times then the bar would pop out of the TC the bar sits at a weird angle

I have a '93 I6/ac with that kit &30'S stiffer than stock high mile springs but not bad I would recommend 33'S will beawefully tight ; watch your control arm angels that is what affects the ride if you use bb's

With the TC drop it drops the trans and everything down ahalf inch plus making the bar not line up at all

have you tried adjusting back and forth from 2wd to 4hi? also when you shifted from 4 hi to 4 lo was the jeep running? i ask that because i know my jeep and my buddies jeeps you have to turn the jeep off when you are going back into 4 hi from 4 lo because it puts a lot of stress on it and will grind sometimes

just out of curiosity, i have a 98 xj and may be switching to a zj soon... i lifted my xj 4.5 inches and got bad death wobble going over bumps and stuff
how is the death wobble on a zj, similar?
i dont want to go as high as 4.5 this time due to all the problems, will i have probs with death wobble at 1-3"???

I don't have any death wobble in mine with 3" but I got a steering stabilizer as well tho. I have the 5.2l and don't have a transmission at the moment so current info is unavailable.
