93' jeep GC trunk won't open
Should I cut bolts?Took panel off, unlatched the lock bar, latch is unlocked. The u bolt that is latched into on bottom is not disengaging. Took off 2 nuts below bumper of u latch and trunk open partially(3inches) as u bolt comes up but will not open fully unless you cut bolt? Help, how to finish to get trunk open before financee cut bolts?

I had the same problem,95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, after much frustration, due to neglect of former owner, had to cut the retaining latch that holds the door closed, also known as a (striker). This should be your last resort. it will damage the bottom trim and striker, but you can get all these parts at the wrecker for cheap, including the replacement latch assembley and striker. Hope this helps

You'll probably have to cut it. I don't know of any alternatives unless you can pull the inner panel and trip the latch manually, and I'm not sure that would do anything but waste your time. JMO
