I have the same brake light warning issue, the console says the lights are out.... My issue is the warning is clear until the lights come on, then the brake light warning comes on? So this means all my lights are fine? What would the lights turning on, cause this to turn into a warning? Thank you for your help....

 

if it is saying "rear lamp failure" and all ur lights are fine, then it means 1 of 2 things (most of the time). 1) ur 3rd brake light is either burnt out or the wrong number. 2) the wiring going to ur lights is broke off somewere.

 

Thanks for the info.... I only get rear lamp failure when the lights are turned on..... With the lights turned off, the message is clear, no problems...

So it seems related to the lights being on, which is what is stumping me, I verified all tail lights all seem OK....

 

It could be one of the three bulbs in the high-mount brake light or one of the license plate bulbs. IMO

I checked the high mount bulbs, there is only 2 on this 93? But the license plate bulb could be it, since when the lights turn on, I get this message, and when the lights are off, it is fine.... Thanks!
