Default '93 Grand: Security (Post-repair question)

First let me say thank you very much to everyone here. I have learned more as a guest here in two weeks then as a member on every other website I have ever visited.

I bought my first Jeep (dad always had wranglers) two weeks ago for $200. Its a 93 Grand, 4.0, 190,000 miles. Got it from my brother in law because it wouldn't start, or when it did would not run more then a few seconds. Every shop and mechanic labeled it as impossible. After five minutes on this site I knew they were clueless.

So anyway I ripped the door panel off the first day and grounded the purple/yellow wire. I did this in the door because grounding in the kick panel was making my temp guage max out when power was on. Figured it was grounding the guage.

So its worked perfectly since, to the tune of probably 50 starts and exactly 175 miles. While waiting on the fiance a few days ago (idleing) the security light came on, and stayed on, and went away after a few minutes. It did nothing to the jeep, just a light.

I'm paranoid so today I fired it up and while running I yanked the vss (behind glove box, left side, red plug and labeled as "SECURITY ALARM: 7JTE2CH02"). Since then I have shut it off, started it, gone through the gears (in garage), locked and unlocked doors, all is well.

I'm curious if this is the final, end all fix or if I'm still looking at potential problems. Seems to me its all good

Thank you

Steve

This is the cherokee tech section. Grands have their own section.

Just a quick note, I'm currently re-doing the shotty stereo wiring and I see a yellow/purple wire behind the unit that is stripped and flopping around for only god knows what reason. I capped it off
