Default 5.2 engine swaps

Will a 2001 5.2 go into a 1995? I guess it will ive done it only its blown oil out the back i believe through the EGR valve. I was under the impression all i had to do was change intake manifolds. The 2001 has no EGR valve. Or port l8oe the 96

As far as blocks go they will swap, you will have to use most of the parts and accessories from your 95 engine.

Nope, the ECU's/computers in 1996+ models are more complex than the older ones used in 1993-95 models (the older ones are Plug-'n'-Play as long as it's the same engine and the newer ones have to be programmed to your specific Jeep)... you'll have to swap in an engine from a 1995 or older vehicle, although you'll want to stick within the 1993-95 year range, as those 5.2's had more power than the older 5.2's in the Dodge Ram pickups and vans.

You don't swap the computer, you use the later model engine, with the computer wiring, and sensors from the 95 model.
