42re transmission
i have a 99 wj with 4.0, 42re transmission and selec-trac nv242 transfer case. my question is wether or not i can use a two wheel drive transmission by removing the tail. has anyone done this?

the tranny is the same. intermediate shaft is the same, its the rear/od section and output shaft that are different. you need a complete 2wd o/d section. then you can just swap it
