Default 42RE to 45RFE Swap

Can I swap a 45rfe transmission in place of a 42re in a 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited(AWD)? If i can, who would have the conversion kit(s) and what would I need? In addition, Can I get an upgrade kit for the 42re to get some more beef into the transmission?

The 42re only bolts to the 4.0. The 45rfe only fits the V8s. Not compatible at all. The AW4 from the XJ will fit, but it's not compatible with the data-bus system.

It may be possible to get heavy duty clutches for the 42re. They are supposedly the grandchild of the A-727 Torqueflite which is probably the best transmission Chrysler ever made. The drag guys used to put "mail truck" clutches in them and we had an aircraft tow tractor in the Navy with a Plymouth flathead 6 and a Torqueflite in it. It had no problems towing 20 tons of aircraft.
