Default 2wd to 4wd conversion

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2wd. I would like to know how to go about changing it to a 4wd. How hard would it be? And how costly?

seeing that is a WJ which does not have a straight axle in the 4WD version it could get pretty costly either way you go (straight or CV) cost wise you are probably better off selling the 2wd and buying a 4x4

wj's do have solid front axles like zj's and xj's/ the general census with zj's and wj's is that unlike with an xj, unless you have a great sentimental connection to it, is to sell it and buy a 4x4 one. you would need a front axle, t-case, driveshafts, shifter and linkages, etc.....
