I finally found the v8 242 direct swap. Only question is does that sensor on top do anything but turn the light on in the instrument panel that says 4x4? And I only half to switch my shifter cable the top to the bottom fitting if my memory serves me right.

Correct. Just did this a few months ago and you dont really need it. Yes youll have to move the shifter cable in the bracket. Be careful when youre taking the linkage off the transfer case. The little retainer bushing can break. Mine did and now its held on with a c clip. Theres a really well written write up floating around, search for that and youre golden.
