2012 hemi auto 4wd grand Cherokee 4wd issues
Guys I have a bit of an issue . Needing some insight as what I’ve found online is limited and dodge is who diagnosed it ... transfer case was shot full of clutch material and metal shavings would not change modes . I replaced with 50k mile TC . Jeep now shifts in and out of different modes fine ( sand , mud, auto, 4lo etc) but even in auto the Jeep always seems to be binding and locked in 4 wheel drive . I read a small tid bit about ELSD differentials otherwise I’m not finding much .
Issue with 4wd remains even with new transfer case. Issue did not change other than the old one was definitely destroyed but has to of been because of this issue. Fdcm is throwing a c1476 code . Even in neutral the vehicle is locked into 4wd and is difficult to move. Due
to the code it has and the conditions that follow I believe this is potentially a FDCM issue . Code is thrown immediately after it is cleared also . Does any one have the diagnostic procedures for code c1476 ?

Do you have access to use a DRBIII scanner?
If not? You can check at the module for the power feeds. There is the B+ from the Integrated power module, and there is another B+ from the J Case.
Check the ground supply at the DTCM should be low less than 100 millivolts (~30).
You can check the data BUS lines at the module for having the proper VOLTAGE on them.
From there.. is possible to isolate it further eliminating other associated circuitry.

Transfer case issue is resolved just have to have the fdcm or dtcm whichever you prefer reflashed when I finish fixing all it’s other demons . If anyone ever considers buying a new Jeep DONT!! Currently have the entire front bumper off to repair a headlight issue that was quoted 1200 dollars by dodge ....
