So today me and my mom noticed the driver side mirror is extremely blurry on the bottom half, and it's like a "Fun" mirror now. The only explanation i can come up with is the mirror itself has become warped. Is this even possible, and if so is it a common thing?

Anyways, i need some pointers on replacing it. I'm just gonna get a new one from the junkyard. Do i need to replace the whole assembly or can i just replace the mirror itself?

I have seen mirrors do that when the vehicle is equipped with heated mirrors

Then that's it, they are heated. I think i'll just leave the heater unplugged when i replace it.

And tips on getting it open?

I don't think your issue is related to your mirrors being heated. My WJ has heated mirrors and has never had any issues since we purchased it new. Maybe the glass was replaced incorrectly before, or it's a cheap take off.
