Running with out sway bars
Quick "review" I ran my lifted zj for close to a year without sway bars. I adjusted my driving to make it "safe". I even posted to people how safe it was. A few weeks ago some jack.... ran a stop sign and broadsided me. The poor 07 buick lacross didnt stand a chance.
BUTTTT it almost rolled me. He drove under the rear of the jeep, just before the rear tire, and then I drove over his hood Came very close to rolling it as I tried to swerve back into my lane before I hit a pick up truck.
No matter how safe YOU are, dont run without the front sway bar. AM now running zone quick disos, love them, 100 bucks. Quiet on the street, and they come with buckles to snap out of the way when the are discoed.
Just some advice, take how u want, its your ride and life.

your better off wheeling with sway bars on anyway. Its alot softer f a ride if you are rock crawling or climbing you will have better traction to every tire with the sway bars on.... Honestly I dont know anyone in there right mind that would dd without sway bars... just saying!!!

Gdavid, not my DD, I drive it to trails and back. I posted this to tell everyone that run with out sway bars (there is alot out there), that no matter how you drive you cant predict what someone else may do.
When I go out on the rocks next week I will leave them hooked up. THANKS I always new that disconnecting sway bars on the trail was just a myth!!

I never believed on sway bars with my 6" xjfor the 2 years i dd it with no problems.. With my 6" zj long arms its a diff story. I did drive it bout s week without and on the highway but u can reslly feel the floating lol. When u turn a corner u can see the corner of the hood take a dive. Its drivable by no means but in the case something did happen that u have to swerve or blow a tire it would be hectic i would amagine..

My jeep over heats, I replaced everything, the thermostat and rad cap. Im to cheap to take it to a garage, what else could posibly be wrong with it....

Back on the main topic, both my sway bars are sitting in the garage. My xj is not a dd, it is a weekend and trail only Jeep. Yes you have to change your driving style, and yes you cannot predict what other drivers do. So really weather or not a jeep owner leaves them on or runs quick discos is up to them. Yea I've had to swerve to avoid a accident and I damn near **** my pants. But to leave sway bars on for wheeling is just stupid. Unless you like hanging tires in the air and getting stuck. Here's two pics. Both jeeps on a 4.5" lift mine with now sway bars and one with sway bars in the same exact hole
