Default 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overheating

I'm having an issue with my Grand cherokee overheating. Before I began repairs the vehicle would get hot at idle, but would cool down if I revved the rpm's up. I changed the thermostat and water pump and the issue changed. After those repairs the vehicle was fine at idle, but would heat up while driving and I would only make it roughly a mile before it needed to be shut down. I replaced the radiator cap and fan clutch with no changes to the problem. Then, I noticed that the upper radiator hose would get extremely hot and expand when the vehicle was hot. So, I took the radiator out and had it rodded. Now I put the radiator back in and drove it around. I was able to drive farther (3 miles) before it overheated, but it still over heated. I'm made sure it was full of fluids (water) during each test including the reserve tank. The upper hose still gets real hot, but has not been expanding like before. The lower hose does not get hot or expand at all. Any help would be much appreciated.
