Default 2005 Grand Cherokee - Heater Blower Motor Resistor

My mother in-law's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee seems to be eating blower motor resistors. I've replaced it twice over the last few years... the last time was about 4 months ago. She called last week... it seems to be out again, only blowing on high.

Is there a reason the BMR would blow so frequently or have we just had bad luck with this last one? Other than the blower motor speed, all else seems to function correctly. She does not have the "cimate control" option... just the normal hi-med-lo speeds.

Thanks for your help!

Happy wheeling!
John.

Hey John, Welcome to CF. There could be an issue with your blower motor, causing it to draw too many amps and blowing the resistor. You can unplug it and test it with a meter to find out. It could be binding up at slower speeds. It may need replacing. JMO
Or there could be an issue with the harness like in this link showing the repair for '99-'04 Grand Cherokees. >http://www.wjjeeps.com/blower_motor.htm
