Model: Grand Cherokee (WJ)
Engine: 4L
Jeep details: 189k miles, 4.0 liter 4x4 Laredo, coolant level up near the max level, oil level in the normal range. My heater core hose going to the thermostat housing split open one day, luckily while at home, so that day I replaced the hose, jacked the front of the Jeep up and burped the coolant system through the open radiator cap. All was good running at or below 210 until a few days ago it was 90 degrees outside, and we are in traffic then stopped while looking at new vehicles I noticed the temp went up over 210 but not even close to 260 so my blood pressure went up a little bit. Once we got moving it cooled down to normal temp of 210-ish the rest of the way home. My question are 1) is it the antifreeze? or 2) does it need to be burped more since it runs good normally? or 3) does the radiator need to be flushed? Or 4) ALL of the above?
