2004 grand cherokee jeep

Default 2004 grand cherokee jeep
put a new battery in and crossed the negative and positve terminals. now the key symbol with a slash stays lite on the dash. the vehichle will not start but turns over. suggestions please. and thanks

Try do dissconnect the battery for 30 sec and then re connect pos to pos and neg to neg. Kinda like rebooting a computer.
