2004 GC. Ltd No reverse / park

2004 GC. Ltd No reverse / park
I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee Ltd Quadra-drive. When I got it reverse didnt work, everything else was fine, now it rolls in park (without handbrake on). Is it the transmission or something with the shifter? going forward all gears are fine and smooth...

My first guess would be the shifter cable or linkage is mis-adjusted.
