Default 2002 Grand Cherokee 4.0 a/c, air conditioning issue not cold enough.

So, last year we replaced the a/c evaporator, re-charged and it blows fairly cold. But, it isn't cold as it feels it should be.

Driving down the road at speed it cools pretty well. When stopped it blows a lot less cold.

I was told maybe low freon. So, tonight we put a partial can of 134 with dye, checked for leaks & found nothing. Then another can of 134.

I'm not an a/c pro ... the compressor started cycling off and on, so we let some out.

I think it works worse than it did before. Before we let it out we were getting about 65 degrees at the vent ... got it down to 59. But, I think once we let some out we're back in the mid 60's.

What would the issue be if it were cold on the highway and not so cold when idling?

Thanks folks!
