Default 2001 WJ Died after running for 1 min.

I have and 01 Grand Cherokee 4.0 with 183,000. I just got it last week and have put about 500 miles on it with no problems at all. Today I jumped in it, started in up, then it just died after a minute. The engine turns over but will not start or run. I have checked to fuel filter and its good. There is fuel to the rail as well. The battery is good at 12 volts too. The are no check engine lights on and there are no error codes that are coming up. Could it be a bad PMC??? Any help or ideas is appreciated.

Could be anything. Could be the cam or crank sensor, could be the ASD relay or fuel pump. First thing to do is to determine if it's a spark or fuel problem. You have a coil on plug motor so you can't check for spark like an engine with a distributor. But you can simply spray some starting fluid into the intake and then crank the engine over. If it tries to start it means you have a fuel problem. If nothing happens you have an ignition problem.

I think the fuel pump is working because when I turned the key into the "on" position fuel came out of the filter line where I had disconnected it. I also checked the fuel at the rail and fuel came out there as well. Is it realistic to think the PCM is shot since there are NO error codes coming out of the reader?

A dribble of fuel coming out means nothing. You need to measure the fuel pressure.

I finally got it going again. It was a bad CPS. I still find it weird that no code was thrown but I am happy its running again. Thank you again for your help!!! People like you is what makes the Jeep community so great.
