2000 jeep won't stay running unless throttle
My 2000 jeep cherokee has been having a hard time starting but does start and then it won't stay running unless I'm pushing on the throttle.. but if if I drive down the road then my jeep stays running and seems like there is no issue... even when I come to a stop.. not to sure where to start I know my battery isn't new and could use a replacement. But is that the issue ?

My money is on bad battery.
*edit*
Autozone, Advance, and O'Reilly all do free battery testing. Takes all of 5 minutes. I don't know if you can meaningfully test a car battery with just a multimeter.

All the stickers are off of my battery so the guy at auto value didn't know the cranking amps ??? To check properly but I did just replace my belt and my tensioner pulley a day or 2 before this has been happening... gonna change out my battery but if my battery was toast wouldn't it not start at all or I'd hear ticking when trying to turn it over

For reasons I don't quite understand, a failing battery can sometimes still start the engine just fine, but cause running issues. Think it has something to do with constantly draining output from the generator.

If it were the IAC, I'm guessing that it would have to be stuck closed for there to only be problems during a cold idle. If so, could he test it by removing the IAC and trying to start it up? Should idle ~2500-3000 RPM like that.

So I changed out my battery.. and it hasn't had any issues since. My son left the back light on and I was on night shift so I never noticed it on during the day. I probably could have recharged my battery and might have stopped acting up but she was due for a new battery sooner or later. Damn kids
Thx for everyone's input I appreciate the help
