Default sorry for reply but my new thread link ant workin awd problem

ok i have a awd problem too,
i was haven some fun doin tug-a-truck with a 2006 2500 hd chevy diesel, and my 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.7 pulled that truck around.
but fun has a price to pay.....

heard a loud nosie popin sound, and now i have no power goining to my front wheels, i pulled the front drive shaft and nothing wroung.
pulled the front axles there fine
pulled off the front diff cover front pinon gears where fine also the sprider gears were fine.

front drive shaft spins freely but it spins and tranfercase and front diff
also the spider gears move.

when i spen tires with my hand the c/v spins and spider gears move

....
when i start it put in it 4 low and drive the back tire spins, front drive shaft spins, pionion gears move and so do spider gears but no tire auction

hey there jim i thank you for posting. here latly i was messing around with the jeep and i notice that if i loosen my drive shaft bolt and push it towards the pioion gear that it locks into place. i drove it and i seamed fine long as i dont tighen up the nut but not to let it get to loose otherwise it starts to make a nosie

( long as its in about 1/16 to 1/8 pushed in the awd works fine )

Hey Monster, u get it workin then? I'm not sure what u mean by "driveshaft bolt". The way i understand it is that there is an adjustment "set" screw/bolt for adjusting length for installation. Although the older i get the more i seem to imagine i know. Seems like i remember reading something in the Haynes Manual. I'm bout 5days from takin mine off amd swappin in a Ujoint style shaft from an 04 grand. Yee-Haa

hey jim do you think my Differential Case is broken somehow?

about what i was talking about that you were not real sure what i was talking about ,

behind the front tire is a nut on the C V shaft. if i back that bolt off about 2 turns and push the shaft in , it locks the front wheels into the place.

also, when i had my front diff cover off i didn't see any metal or shavings in the bottom, but what i was woundering is i saw a Differential Case that had 2 spring like things pushing the spriders gears out.
(this was not a jeep diff case) i notice that mine dosen't have thoughs springs

Does not sound good. My first thought is that drive axle shaft has stripped its splines, but only at the contact area. And when u loosen nut, it re-engages just a little bit. I'd yank that rest of way out, and take a look. Now i also remember my left drive axle cv going bad too. Money, money, money, money.
