Hello, I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited. I recently pulled the driver side rear axle to have a new seal and bearing put on. I got my axle back from the person that pressed the bearing on for me and I'm ready to reinstall the axle. I put the new race in, but I'm having questions about putting the axle back in. Should it slide in and line up easily? I put the axle in, but it doesn't seem to go all the way. It's like it gets to the end and the splines aren't lining up just right. Is there a trick to this, or do you have to tap it in? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Have you tried turning it while pushing? IIRC, that how I did mine.
